The Consort of Melbourne Inc. is a new professional Melbourne-based group with a core membership of 4 to 8 singers, and an extended family of up to 16 singers, drawn from Australia’s finest young vocalists. It offers stylish and historically-informed performances to the highest international standard. The ensemble typically works as a consort rather than a choir – often one voice to a part, expanding its forces as required to perform larger scale choral works.

It draws inspiration for its sound from the world's leading early music ensembles, striving for a strong and focused tone ideally suited to performances of music ranging from 13th Century motets to contemporary Australian compositions.
